First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Get medical advice in case of illness.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash affected area with large amount of water and soap until no evidence of substance remains (15-20 minutes). Get medical advice if irritation develops and persists.

Eye contact

Wash immediately with plenty of water or normal saline for at least 15 minutes. Keep eyelid open with the finger. Get medical advice if adverse symptoms appear.

Ingestion

If swallowed rinse mouth with plenty of water provided person is conscious. Do not induce vomiting. Get medical advice if adverse symptoms appear.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Ensure good ventilation of the work station. Take all necessary technical measures to avoid or minimize the release of the product on the workplace. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (see section 8).

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Appropriate risk management measures must be adopted at the workplace. They have to be selected and applied, following the risks assessment carried out by the employer, in connection with the working activity (in according with Directive 98/24/EEC).

Hands

Gloves resistant to chemical agents as for the EN 374, parts 1, 2 e 3 and the European Directive 89/89/EEC. The gloves material must be waterproof and stable against the product/substance/formulation. Material: nitrile (nitrilic rubber), ipoallergenic. Thickness: not inferior to 0.12 mm.

Eyes

Not required for normal use. However, operate according to good working practices and adopt protective equipment in accordance with relevant UNI EN (EN 166) standards.

Respiratory

Handle in a chemical hood if hot worked.

Skin/Body

Select the suitable protective equipment according to the use of the product and possible exposure. Wash with soap and water after removing protective clothing.
