First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If inhaled, remove to fresh air.

Symptoms: Long term exposure to high concentrations of oil mist or vapors may cause lung damage.

Skin contact

Wash contaminated skin with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse.

Symptoms: Prolonged or repeated contact can defat the skin and lead to irritation, cracking and/or dermatitis.

Eye contact

In case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do.

Symptoms: May cause slight transient irritation. (redness)

Ingestion

If swallowed, do not induce vomiting.

Symptoms: Ingestion may cause gastrointestinal irritation and diarrhea.

Immediate Medical Attention

Get medical attention.

Medical Treatment

No specific treatment.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Recommended:, CO₂, powders, Foam

Unsuitable media

Do not use water jet.

Specific hazards

In a fire or if heated, a pressure increase will occur and the container may burst.

Instructions

Promptly isolate the scene by removing all persons from the vicinity of the incident if there is a fire.

Firefighter Protection

Fire-fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full face-piece operated in positive pressure mode.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

For non-emergency personnel : Refer to protective measures listed in sections 7 and 8. For emergency responders : If specialized clothing is required to deal with the spillage, take note of any information in Section 8 on suitable and unsuitable materials. See also the information in "For non-emergency personnel".

Small spill

Stop leak if without risk. Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible, absorbent material e.g. sand, earth, vermiculite or diatomaceous earth and place in container for disposal according to local regulations.

Large spill

Stop leak if without risk. Move containers from spill area. Prevent entry into sewers, water courses, basements or confined areas. Wash spillages into an effluent treatment plant or proceed as follows. Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible, absorbent material e.g. sand, earth, vermiculite or diatomaceous earth and place in container for disposal according to local regulations. Dispose of via a licensed waste disposal contractor.

Environmental

Avoid dispersal of spilled material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers.

Cleanup methods

Contain and collect spillage with non-combustible, absorbent material.

Materials: sand, earth, vermiculite or diatomaceous earth

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Put on appropriate personal protective equipment (see Section 8). Avoid prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Avoid inhalation of vapor, spray or mist. Materials such as rags used with this product may begin to burn by themselves.

Storage

Keep container in a cool, well-ventilated area. Keep container tightly closed.

Hygiene

Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

Fire prevention

Take precautionary measures against electrostatic discharges.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Use only with adequate ventilation. If this product contains ingredients with exposure limits, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep worker exposure below any recommended or statutory limits. Where reasonably practicable, this should be achieved by the use of local exhaust ventilation and good general extraction. Drain down system prior to equipment break-in or maintenance.

Hands

For prolonged or repeated handling, use gloves: > 8 hours (breakthrough time): nitrile, neoprene rubber, PVC. gloves thickness >0.35 mm Wear suitable gloves tested to EN374.

Eyes

Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used when a risk assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists, gases or dusts.

Respiratory

Provide adequate ventilation. A respirator is not needed under normal and intended conditions of product use. If workers are exposed to concentrations above the exposure limit, they must use appropriate, certified respirators. Type A/P, EN14387 & EN143.

Skin/Body

Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by a specialist before handling this product. Appropriate footwear and any additional skin protection measures should be selected based on the task being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by a specialist before handling this product.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter drains or watercourses.
