Suitable media

Carbon Dioxide, Dry Chemical, Foam, Water Fog

Unsuitable media

Alcohol, Alcohol based solutions, any other media not listed above.

Specific hazards

Fire will produce dense black smoke containing hazardous combustion products (see section 10).

Instructions

Keep containers and surroundings cool with water spray.

Firefighter Protection

In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Ensure adequate ventilation. Use personal protective equipment. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak.

Environmental

Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system. Prevent product from entering drains.

Cleanup methods

soak up with non-combustible absorbent material, (e.g. sand, earth, diatomaceous earth, vermiculite) and transfer to a container for disposal according to local / national regulations (see section 13).

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Wear personal protective equipment. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.

Storage

Store at room temperature in the original container. Keep container closed when not in use. Store in a dry, well ventilated place away from sources of heat, ignition and direct sunlight.

Hygiene

Keep working clothes separately. Keep away from food, drink and animal feeding stuffs. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash hands and face before breaks and immediately after handling the product.

Fire prevention

Store away from sources of heat and ignition.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

As a rule, at least 5 air changes per hour are recommended at the workplace. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas.

Hands

Protective gloves. Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact).

Eyes

Eye wash bottle with pure water. Safety goggles. Safety glasses with side-shields conforming to EN 166.

Respiratory

In case of insufficient ventilation wear suitable respiratory equipment.

Skin/Body

Long sleeved clothing.
