First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, oxygen should be administered by qualified personnel. Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice.
Symptoms: Asthmatic-type symptoms may develop and may be immediate or delayed up to several hours.
Cool skin rapidly with cold water after contact with molten material. Cover affected areas with clean sheeting or gauze and seek immediate medical attention. No attempt should be made to remove material from skin or to remove contaminated clothing as damaged skin can be easily torn.
Symptoms: Molten adhesive may cause severe burns.
If eye contact occurs with molten material immediately cool with water. Do not remove adhesive. Seek medical attention.
Seek immediate medical attention. Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Immediate Medical Attention
Seek immediate medical attention.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Water spray (fog), foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide. Use extinguishing measures appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.
Sealed containers at elevated temperatures or contaminated with water may rupture explosively.
In case of fire, keep containers cool with water spray. Keep unnecessary personnel away.
Firefighter Protection
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing, such as turn-out gear.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Use personal protection recommended in Section 8, isolate the hazard area and deny entry to unnecessary and unprotected personnel.
Do not allow product to enter sewer or waterways.
If product is spilled in the solid state, pick up and place in an appropriate waste disposal container. If product is spilled in the molten state, allow product to solidify before scraping up and disposing of in an appropriate waste disposal container.

Handling and Storage
Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements
Use only with adequate ventilation. Always be careful around molten material. Avoid skin contact with molten resins. Precaution - this product should only be heated to recommended temperatures. Hazards of pyrolysis products emitted are unknown and may be hazardous to health. If recommended temperature is exceeded, there is an increased possibility that MDI may be released. Follow suggested application temperature. Use caution if using container unloading equipment that inverts product, in order to avoid dislodging product prematurely. Do not place wet or damp solid into melt tank. Product reacts with water to release carbon dioxide, which could build up pressure in closed containers and lead to bursting.
Store between 5 °C (41°F) and 35 °C (95°F). Do not let moisture contaminate this material. Do not reseal if moisture contamination is suspected. Store in original container until ready to use.

Physical and Chemical Properties
Appearance, physical state, melting point, boiling point, and material characteristics
Stability and Reactivity
Chemical stability, hazardous reactions, and incompatible materials
Stable under normal conditions of storage and use.
MDI reacts slowly with water to form carbon dioxide gas.
Exothermic. Polymerization may occur at elevated temperature or in the presence of incompatible materials.
Avoid moisture. Container can be pressurised by carbon dioxide due to reaction with humid air and/or water. Extremes of temperature and direct sunlight. Contamination with water.
Water. Moisture. Alcohols. Amines. Strong acids and strong bases. Oxidizing agents. Reducing agents. Free radical initiators. Peroxides.
Upon decomposition, this product may yield gaseous nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and/or low molecular weight hydrocarbons. Hydrogen cyanide. Isocyanate vapors Alcohols. Ethers. Ketones.
