First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

Skin contact

Immediately flush skin with plenty of water (using soap, if available). Remove contaminated clothing and footwear. Wash clothing before reuse.

Eye contact

Check for and remove any contact lenses. Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.

Ingestion

Give a conscious person several glasses of water. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Immediate Medical Attention

Get medical attention.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray (fog), foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable media

Direct water stream

Specific hazards

Violent steam generation may occur upon application of direct water stream. Closed containers may rupture (due to build up of pressure) when exposed to extreme heat.

Instructions

In case of fire, keep containers cool with water spray.

Firefighter Protection

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing, such as turn-out gear.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Isolate the hazard area and deny entry to unnecessary and unprotected personnel. Evacuate and ventilate spill area; dike spill to prevent entry into water system.

Environmental

Do not allow product to enter sewer or waterways.

Cleanup methods

Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust). Remove the absorbed material, and place in an appropriate chemical waste container for disposal.

Materials: Inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust)
