First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove to fresh air. Keep person warm and at rest. If not breathing, if breathing is irregular or if respiratory arrest occurs, provide artificial respiration or oxygen by trained personnel.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water or use recognized skin cleanser. Do NOT use solvents or thinners. In case of accidental skin contact, avoid concurrent exposure to the sun or other sources of UV light which may increase the sensitivity of skin.

Eye contact

Check for and remove any contact lenses. Immediately flush eyes with running water for at least 15 minutes, keeping eyelids open. Seek immediate medical attention/advice.

Ingestion

Get medical attention immediately. Call a poison center or physician. Remove dentures if any. Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Do not induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. If vomiting occurs, the head should be kept low so that vomit does not enter the lungs. Chemical burns must be treated promptly by a physician. Give nothing by mouth. If unconscious, place in recovery position and get medical attention immediately. Maintain an open airway. Loosen tight clothing such as a collar, tie, belt or waistband.

Symptoms: Chemical burns

Immediate Medical Attention

In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention. Seek immediate medical attention/advice for eye contact. Get medical attention immediately for ingestion.

Medical Treatment

Chemical burns must be treated promptly by a physician.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Recommended, alcohol-resistant foam, CO2, powders, water spray

Unsuitable media

Do not use water jet.

Specific hazards

In a fire or if heated, a pressure increase will occur and the container may burst. This material is toxic to aquatic life with long lasting effects.

Instructions

Promptly isolate the scene by removing all persons from the vicinity of the incident if there is a fire. No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training.

Firefighter Protection

Fire-fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full face-piece operated in positive pressure mode. Clothing for fire-fighters (including helmets, protective boots and gloves) conforming to European standard EN 469 will provide a basic level of protection for chemical incidents.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training. Evacuate surrounding areas. Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel from entering. Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Do not breathe vapor or mist. Provide adequate ventilation.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter drains or watercourses.

Cleanup methods

Preferably clean with a detergent. Avoid using solvents.

Handling

Persons with a history of skin sensitization problems should not be employed in any process in which this product is used. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Put on appropriate personal protective equipment (see Section 8).

Storage

Keep container tightly closed.

Hygiene

Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas. Workers should wash hands and face before eating, drinking and smoking. Eating, drinking and smoking should be prohibited in areas where this material is handled, stored and processed.

Fire prevention

Stability and Reactivity

Chemical stability, hazardous reactions, and incompatible materials

Stability

This mixture contains materials which are unstable under the following conditions: exposure to heat strong UV sources

Reactivity

Not available.

Hazardous reactions

Under normal conditions of storage and use, hazardous reactions will not occur.

Avoid

When exposed to high temperatures may produce hazardous decomposition products. These could cause the product to polymerize exothermically. Unintentional contact with them should be avoided.

Incompatible

strong alkalis, free radical initiators, peroxides, reactive metals

Decomposition

Under normal conditions of storage and use, hazardous decomposition products should not be produced.
