First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Assure fresh air breathing. If you feel unwell, seek medical advice.

Skin contact

Wash with plenty of soap and water.

Eye contact

Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Obtain medical attention if pain, blinking or redness persist.

Symptoms: pain, blinking or redness

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell.

Symptoms: No significant signs or symptoms indicative of any adverse health hazard are expected to occur as a result of ingestion.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Foam. Dry powder. Carbon dioxide. Water spray. Sand.

Unsuitable media

Water jet.

Specific hazards

promptly isolate the scene by removing all persons from the vicinity of the incident if there is a fire. No action shall be taken involving any personal risk or without suitable training.

Firefighter Protection

Wear fully protective suit including respiratory protective device, helmets, protective boots and gloves.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Evacuate unnecessary personnel. Ventilate area.

Environmental

Avoid dispersal of spilled material and runoff and contact with soil, waterways, drains and sewers.

Cleanup methods

Shovel or sweep up. Recover the product and place in a dry un-contaminated area.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Do not ingest. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing. Avoid breathing vapor or mist. Use only with adequate ventilation. Keep in the original container or an approved alternative made from a compatible material, kept tightly closed when not in use. Empty containers retain product residue and can be hazardous. Do not reuse container. Put on appropriate personal protection equipment.

Storage

Store in original container protected from direct sunlight in a dry, clean and well-ventilated area, away from incompatible materials (see Section 10) and food and drink.

Hygiene

Remove contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas. Workers should wash hands and face before eating, drinking and smoking. Eating, drinking and smoking should be prohibited in areas where this material is handled, stored and processed.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Good general ventilation should be sufficient to control worker exposure to airborne contaminants.

Hands

Use Chemical resistant, impervious gloves approved according to standard EN 374:2003. Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it must be considered that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the permeation time determined through testing.

Eyes

Wear safety glasses or goggles to protect against exposure.

Respiratory

Wear respiratory protection if ventilation is inadequate.

Skin/Body

Wear suitable protective clothing and gloves. Suitable protective footwear. Body Protection must be chosen depending on activity and possible exposure, e.g. apron, protecting boots, chemical-protection suit.
