First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove from exposure. Keep warm and at rest. If there is difficulty in breathing give oxygen if available. If discomfort persists, OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION.

Skin contact

Wash off skin thoroughly with water. Remove contaminated clothing immediately and wash before re-use. If discomfort persists, OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION.

Symptoms: Causes skin irritation.

Eye contact

Irrigate thoroughly with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes, holding the eye open. OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION URGENTLY.

Symptoms: Causes serious eye irritation.

Ingestion

If conscious give plenty of water to drink. Do not induce vomiting. If there is difficulty in breathing give oxygen if available. If breathing stops or shows signs of failing, apply artificial resuscitation. If unconscious place in the recovery position. OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION URGENTLY.

Immediate Medical Attention

OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION URGENTLY (for ingestion and eye contact). OBTAIN MEDICAL ATTENTION (for inhalation and skin contact if discomfort persists).

Medical Treatment

No special treatment needed; treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray, alcohol resistant foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable media

Do not use water jet.

Specific hazards

The formation of dangerous decomposition products greatly depends on the circumstances of the combustion. A complex mixture of airborne solid, liquid and gas substances may occur, such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and unidentified compounds. The inhalation of such combustion products can have serious adverse effects on health.

Instructions

Cool the fire affected containers with water spray.

Firefighter Protection

Wear full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Do not allow general use of area until it is safe to do so.

Small spill

Wash area down with copious amounts of water.

Large spill

Contain and absorb with inert material. Transfer absorbent to salvage container for removal. Wash area down with copious amounts of water.

Environmental

Dispose of the spillage and the resulting waste according to the applicable environmental regulations.

Cleanup methods

Transfer absorbent to salvage container for removal. Wash area down with copious amounts of water.

Materials: inert material

Handling

Observe conventional hygiene precautions. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Do not breathe in vapours. Do not allow to contaminate clothing.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.

Hygiene

Observe conventional hygiene precautions.

Fire prevention

No special measures required.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

In pursuance of work is proper foresight needed to avoid leaking onto clothes and floors and to avoid contact with eyes and skin.

Hands

Use nitrile gloves or PVC gauntlets (EN 374).

Eyes

Use chemical full-face shield (EN ISO 16321-1:2022; EN 166).

Respiratory

Use L.E.V. or natural ventilation to maintain vapour concentrations below exposure limits. If not, use a well-maintained chemical cartridge organic vapour respirator, or use self-contained breathing apparatus.

Skin/Body

Wear PVC oversuit.
