Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water spray, Alcohol resistant foam, Carbon dioxide, Dry extinguishing powder.

Unsuitable media

Strong water jet. Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

Specific hazards

Non flammable. May form explosive dust-air mixture. Do not allow run-off from fire-fighting to enter drains or water courses.

Instructions

Evacuate area. Use water spray or fog for cooling exposed containers. Contain the extinguishing fluids by bunding. Prevent fire fighting water from entering the environment.

Firefighter Protection

Do not attempt to take action without suitable protective equipment. Self-contained breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Ensure procedures and training for emergency decontamination and disposal are in place.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

Cleanup methods

Take up mechanically (sweeping, shovelling) and collect in suitable container for disposal.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Provide adequate ventilation. Use personal protective equipment as required. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Avoid dust formation. Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Take precautionary measures against static discharges. Take any precaution to avoid mixing with Incompatible materials. Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

Storage

Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Protect from sunlight.

Hygiene

Keep good industrial hygiene. Wash hands and face before breaks and immediately after handling of the product. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes.

Fire prevention

Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation. Apply measures to prevent dust explosions. Provide adequate precautions, such as electrical grounding and bonding, or inert atmospheres. Organisational measures to prevent/limit releases, dispersion and exposure. See also section 7.

Hands

The selection of specific gloves for a specific application and time of use in a working area, should also take into account other factors on the working space, such as (but not limited to): other chemicals that are possibly used, physical requirements (protection against cutting/drilling, skill, thermal protection), and the instructions/specification of the supplier of gloves. (EN388). Impervious gloves : . All types

Eyes

Safety glasses with side-shields (EN166)

Respiratory

In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Effective dust mask (EN149). Filter type: type P1

Skin/Body

Wear suitable protective clothing. Overall. Chemical resistant safety shoes.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment. Comply with applicable Community environmental protection legislation.
