First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Let the person breathe fresh air and consult a medical specialist.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing immediately, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water and soap, in case of skin irritation (redness, etc.) consult a doctor immediately.

Symptoms: skin irritation (redness, etc.)

Eye contact

Remove contact lenses. Rinse thoroughly and abundantly with water for several minutes, if necessary call a doctor.

Ingestion

Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water. Do not induce vomiting, give plenty of water, call a doctor immediately.

Immediate Medical Attention

In case of skin irritation (redness, etc.) consult a doctor immediately. If necessary, call a doctor for eye contact. Call a doctor immediately for ingestion. Consult a medical specialist for inhalation.

In case of spillage or inadvertent exposure, wear personal protective equipment to avoid contamination. Ensure adequate ventilation, remove any sources of explosion. Avoid dust formation in solid and powdered products. If possible, leave the danger zones, apply existing emergency plans if necessary. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Ensure good ventilation. This can also be achieved by local exhaust ventilation or general exhaust of stale air. If this is not sufficient to keep the concentration below the TLV / AGW values, wear suitable respiratory protection.

Hands

Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN ISO 374). Recommended Protective nitrile gloves (EN ISO 374). Minimum layer thickness in mm: 0.5 Breakthrough time in minutes: 480 Protective hand cream is recommended. The drilling times determined according to EN 16523-1 were not carried out under practical conditions. A maximum gestation period corresponding to 50% of the drilling period is recommended.

Eyes

Hermetically sealed safety glasses with side protection (EN 166).

Respiratory

In normal cases not necessary. In case of insufficient ventilation, wear a respirator.

Skin/Body

Protective clothing (e.g. EN ISO 20345 safety shoes, long-sleeved protective work clothing).
