First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Provide fresh air. When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice.

Skin contact

After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse. Medical treatment necessary.

Eye contact

In case of contact with eyes flush immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart and consult an ophthalmologist.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth immediately and drink 1 glass of of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person or a person with cramps. Get medical advice/attention.

Immediate Medical Attention

Medical treatment necessary. Get medical advice/attention.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Co-ordinate fire-fighting measures to the fire surroundings.

Unsuitable media

Full water jet

Specific hazards

Non-flammable. In case of fire may be liberated: Carbon monoxide, Nitrogen oxides (NOx)

Instructions

Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray jet. Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers.

Firefighter Protection

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical protective clothing. Full protection suit.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Provide adequate ventilation. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes. Use personal protection equipment.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment.

Cleanup methods

Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents).

Materials: sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

If handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation have to be used. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Wash hands before breaks and after work. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes.

Storage

Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect from sunlight. Keep away from heat. Do not store at temperatures above: 40 °C / 104 °F

Hygiene

Remove contaminated, saturated clothing immediately. Draw up and observe skin protection programme. Wash hands and face before breaks and after work and take a shower if necessary. When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sniff.

Fire prevention

No special fire protection measures are necessary.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

If handled uncovered, arrangements with local exhaust ventilation have to be used. Do not breathe gas/fumes/vapour/spray. Technical ventilation of workplace

Hands

When handling with chemical substances, protective gloves must be worn with the CE-label including the four control digits. The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves. Wear suitable gloves, certified by EN ISO 374-1 at least Type B. Suitable gloves type NBR (Nitrile rubber). Thickness of the glove material > 0,56 mm. Breakthrough time: < 60 Min. After consultation with producer, there may be used gloves with less thickness if the protection is sufficient enough.

Eyes

Suitable eye protection: goggles. fully-eye-covering safety glasses, chemical safe..

Respiratory

In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection. Filtering device (full mask or mouthpiece) with filter: Type A-P2

Skin/Body

Use of protective clothing. (e.g. cotton coat, safety shoes).

Environmental

Do not empty into drains. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.
