First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove casualty to fresh air and keep warm and at rest. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated, saturated clothing immediately. After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of water and soap. Do not wash with: Solvents/Thinner

Eye contact

In case of contact with eyes flush immediately with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes holding eyelids apart and consult an ophthalmologist.

Ingestion

If accidentally swallowed rinse the mouth with plenty of water (only if the person is conscious) and obtain immediate medical attention. Keep at rest. Do NOT induce vomiting.

Immediate Medical Attention

obtain immediate medical attention

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

alcohol resistant foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Water mist, Extinguishing powder

Unsuitable media

Full water jet

Specific hazards

Burning produces heavy smoke. Do not inhale explosion and combustion gases.

Instructions

Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers.

Firefighter Protection

Use suitable breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Clear spills immediately.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

Cleanup methods

Clean with detergents. Avoid solvent cleaners.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

All work processes must always be designed so that the following is excluded: Inhalation of vapours or spray/mists Inhalation of dust/particles Skin contact Eye contact Never use pressure to empty container. Wear personal protection equipment (refer to section 8).

Storage

Keep/Store only in original container.

Hygiene

Comply with the health and safety at work laws.

Fire prevention

Vapours are heavier than air, spread along floors and form explosive mixtures with air. Vapours can form explosive mixtures with air. Keep away from sources of heat (e.g. hot surfaces), sparks and open flames. Use only antistatically equipped (spark-free) tools. Provide earthing of containers, equipment, pumps and ventilation facilities. Wear anti-static footwear and clothing Electrical equipment should be protected to the appropriate standard.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide adequate ventilation. If technical exhaust or ventilation measures are not possible or insufficient, respiratory protection must be worn.

Hands

Suitable material : FKM (fluoro rubber) Required properties : liquid-tight. Breakthrough time : > 60 min See information supplied by the manufacturer. Thickness of the glove material : 0,7mm Recommended glove articles : When handling with chemical substances, protective gloves must be worn with the CE-label including the four control digits. Additional hand protection measures : Check leak tightness/impermeability prior to use. Do not wear gloves near rotary machines and tools. Take recovery periods for skin regeneration. In the case of wanting to use the gloves again, clean them before taking off and air them well. Remark : For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these gloves.

Eyes

Suitable eye protection Eye glasses with side protection

Respiratory

Respiratory protection necessary at: exceeding exposure limit values Suitable respiratory protection apparatus Filtering device (full mask or mouthpiece) with filter: A

Skin/Body

Body protection Required properties : antistatic. Recommended material : Natural fibres (e.g. cotton) heat-resistant synthetic fibres

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.
