First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, oxygen should be administered by qualified personnel. Move to fresh air.
Symptoms: Asthmatic-type symptoms may develop and may be immediate or delayed up to several hours. Extreme asthmatic reactions can be life threatening.
Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. Wipe off paste with paper towel or cloth. Rinse with running water and soap. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Thoroughly clean shoes before reuse. Discard any shoes or clothing items that cannot be decontaminated.
Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes.
Symptoms: Workplace vapors have produced reversible corneal epithelial edema impairing vision.
DO NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Immediate Medical Attention
Seek medical attention immediately.
Medical Treatment
Stain for evidence of corneal injury. If cornea is burned, instill antibiotic steroid preparation frequently. Treat symptomatically as for contact dermatitis or thermal burns. Treat symptomatically.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Use extinguishing measures appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment. Foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide. Water may be an ineffective extinguishing medium.
Do not use high volume water jet.
At higher temperatures isocyanate may be released. Sealed containers at elevated temperatures or contaminated with water may rupture explosively.
Keep unnecessary personnel away. In case of fire, keep containers cool with water spray. Do not allow run-off from fire fighting to enter drains or water courses.
Firefighter Protection
Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing, such as turn-out gear.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Use personal protection recommended in Section 8, isolate the hazard area and deny entry to unnecessary and unprotected personnel. Ensure adequate ventilation.
For minor spills, absorb isocyanates with sawdust or other absorbent, shovel into suitable unsealed containers, transport to well ventilated area (outside) and treat with neutralizing solution: mixture of 80% water and 20% non-ionic surfactant Tergitol TMN-10; or 90% water, 3-8% concentrated ammonia and 2% detergent. Allow to stand uncovered for 48 hours to let carbon dioxide escape.
Do not allow product to enter sewer or waterways.
Absorb isocyanates with sawdust or other absorbent, shovel into suitable unsealed containers, transport to well ventilated area (outside) and treat with neutralizing solution. Decontaminate floor with decontamination solution letting stand for at least 15 minutes.
Materials: sawdust or other absorbent, neutralizing solution (mixture of 80% water and 20% non-ionic surfactant Tergitol TMN-10; or 90% water, 3-8% concentrated ammonia and 2% detergent), decontamination solution

Physical and Chemical Properties
Appearance, physical state, melting point, boiling point, and material characteristics
Stability and Reactivity
Chemical stability, hazardous reactions, and incompatible materials
Stable under normal conditions of storage and use.
Not available.
Exothermic. Polymerization may occur at elevated temperature or in the presence of incompatible materials. Contact with moisture, other materials which can react with isocyanates, or temperatures above 204.4°C (400°F), may cause polymerization.
Avoid moisture. Contamination with water. Extremes of temperature and direct sunlight. Container can be pressurised by carbon dioxide due to reaction with humid air and/or water. Protect from direct sunlight. Do not freeze.
Water. Moisture. Humid air and/or water will produce carbon dioxide which will pressurize the container. Amines. Alcohols. Strong acids and strong bases. Water, Amines, Alkalis, Alcohols. Will cause some corrosion to copper alloys and aluminum.
Upon decomposition, this product may yield gaseous nitrogen oxides, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and/or low molecular weight hydrocarbons. Hydrogen cyanide. Isocyanate vapors Toxic and irritating gases.
