First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If symptoms develop and persist, get medical attention.

Skin contact

Immediately wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing and footwear. If symptoms develop and persist, get medical attention.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Get immediate medical attention.

Ingestion

DO NOT induce vomiting unless directed to do so by medical personnel. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get immediate medical attention.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Foam, dry chemical or carbon dioxide.

Unsuitable media

Not available.

Specific hazards

During emergency conditions, overexposure to decomposition products may cause a health hazard. Symptoms may not be immediately apparent. Obtain medical attention.

Instructions

Keep unnecessary personnel away. Water may be ineffective, but may be used to cool exposed containers to prevent pressure build-up and possible auto-ignition or explosion when exposed to extreme heat. If water is used, fog nozzles are preferable.

Firefighter Protection

Firefighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Use personal protection recommended in Section 8, isolate the hazard area and deny entry to unnecessary and unprotected personnel.

Environmental

Do not allow product to enter sewer or waterways.

Cleanup methods

Soak up with inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust).

Materials: inert absorbent material (e.g. sand, silica gel, acid binder, universal binder, sawdust)
