Composition / Information on Ingredients

Chemical components, concentration ranges, and hazardous substance identification

Type mixture

Mixture based on severely refined mineral base oils with corrosion preventive agents and volatile hydrocarbons.

Chemical Name CAS Number Concentration Hazardous
Hydrocarbons, low viscous EC: 294-799-5 --- 50 - 100% Yes
Terpinolene multiconstituent EC: 938-945-4 --- 0.1 - 1% Yes

Please note that the mineral oils and petroleum distillates used in our products are severely refined and have a DMSO extract < 3% as measured by method IP 346 and are not classified as carcinogenic according to Note L of Annex VI of Regulation EC 1272/2008.

04

First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Supply fresh air; consult doctor in case of symptoms.

Skin contact

Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes while removing contaminated clothing and shoes. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Get medical attention. Wash with water and soap; pay attention: skin degreasing product.

Symptoms: Causes skin irritation.

Eye contact

Immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. If easy to do, remove contact lenses. Get medical attention.

Ingestion

Call a physician or poison control center immediately. Rinse mouth. Never give liquid to an unconscious person. If vomiting occurs, keep head low so that stomach content doesn't get into the lungs. Do NOT induce vomiting. Call a POISON CENTER or doctor/ physician if you feel unwell.

Symptoms: If ingested, material may be aspirated into the lungs and cause chemical pneumonitis.

Immediate Medical Attention

Get medical attention.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

CO2, fire extinguishing powder or fog like water spraying. Extinguish larger fires with alcohol resistant foam or spray water with suitable surfactant added

Unsuitable media

Avoid water in straight hose stream; will scatter and spread fire.

Specific hazards

Can form explosive vapor-air mixtures at higher temperatures.

Instructions

Move container from fire area if it can be done without risk.

Firefighter Protection

Firefighters must use standard protective equipment including flame retardant coat, helmet with face shield, gloves, rubber boots, and in enclosed spaces, SCBA. Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Ventilate closed spaces before entering them. Keep upwind. Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Keep unauthorized personnel away. In case of spills, beware of slippery floors and surfaces.

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Prevent from spreading (e.g. by binding or oil barriers). Environmental manager must be informed of all major spillages.

Cleanup methods

Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acidbinders, universal binders, sawdust).

Materials: liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acidbinders, universal binders, sawdust)

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Avoid contact with skin. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink or smoke when working with the product. Take usual precautions when handling mineral oil products or chemical products.

Storage

Store locked up. Store in a well-ventilated place. Store in a cool place. Local regulations concerning handling and storage of waterpolluting products have to be followed. The precautions for storing and handling of flammable liquids have to be kept. Local regulations for common storage of flammable liquids have to be followed. Do not heat up to temperatures close to the flash point.

Hygiene

Wash hands thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink or smoke when working with the product. Observe good industrial hygiene practices.

Fire prevention

Keep away from heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources. No smoking. Ground and bond container and receiving equipment. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide adequate ventilation. Ventilation rates should be matched to conditions. If applicable, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to maintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits. If exposure limits have not been established, maintain airborne levels to an acceptable level.

Hands

Material: Nitrile butyl rubber (NBR). Min. Breakthrough time: >= 480 min Recommended thickness of the material: >= 0,38 mm. Avoid long-term and repeated skin contact. Suitable gloves can be recommended by the glove supplier. Use skin protection cream for preventive skin protection. Protective gloves, where permitted in acc. to safety directions. The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

Eyes

Safety glasses (EN 166) recommended during refilling. Avoid contact with eyes.

Respiratory

Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace. Avoid breathing vapour/ aerosol.

Skin/Body

Do not carry cleaning cloths impregnated with the product in trouser pockets. Wear suitable protective clothing.

Environmental

No data available.
