First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Move person into fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. Call a physician.
Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Wash off with soap and plenty of water / shower. Call a physician immediately.
Flush eyes with plenty of water. Remove contact lenses. Immediately call an ophthalmologist.
Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Rinse mouth with water. If swallowed, give water to drink (two glasses at most), avoid vomiting (risk of perforation). Do not attempt to neutralise. Call a physician immediately.
Immediate Medical Attention
Call a physician immediately.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Water, Foam, Carbon dioxide (CO₂), Dry powder
For this substance no limitations of extinguishing agents are given.
Gentamicin Sulfate: Combustible. Development of hazardous combustion gases or vapours possible in the event of fire. ProClin™ 300: Combustible. Vapors are heavier than air and may spread along floors. Forms explosive mixtures with air on intense heating. Development of hazardous combustion gases or vapours possible in the event of fire.
Prevent skin contact by keeping a safe distance or by wearing suitable protective clothing.
Firefighter Protection
Stay in danger area only with self-contained breathing apparatus. Prevent skin contact by keeping a safe distance or by wearing suitable protective clothing.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Avoid inhalation of dusts/vapors/aerosols. Avoid substance contact. Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate the danger area, observe emergency procedures, consult an expert.
Do not let product enter drains.
Take up carefully. Dispose of properly. Clean up affected area. Take up with liquid-absorbent and neutralising material.
Materials: liquid-absorbent and neutralising material (e.g. Chemizorb® H⁺, Merck Art. No. 101595)

Stability and Reactivity
Chemical stability, hazardous reactions, and incompatible materials
the product is chemically stable under standard ambient conditions (room temperature).
Gentamicin Sulfate: The following applies in general to flammable organic substances and mixtures: in correspondingly fine distribution, when whirled up a dust explosion potential may generally be assumed. ProClin™ 300: Forms explosive mixtures with air on intense heating. A range from approx. 15 Kelvin below the flash point is to be rated as critical.
For ProClin™ 300: no data available. For gentamicin sulfate: violent reactions possible with strong oxidizing agents.
Gentamicin Sulfate: No information available; ProClin™ 300: Strong heating
Gentamicin Sulfate: No information available; ProClin™ 300: Strong oxidizing agents, Reducing agents, Amines, Mercaptans
