First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove affected person from area of exposure preferably into fresh air. Anyone who has asthmatic symptoms from an exposure to dust should seek medical advice. The symptoms normally disappear if the sufferer avoids further exposure.

Symptoms: Accumulated dust from the product may cause asthmatic reactions in a small proportion of susceptible persons.

Skin contact

For hygiene reasons it should be cleaned from broken skin to reduce risk of infection.

Symptoms: Accumulated dust from the product can have a drying effect on the skin. There should be no adverse response from exposure to skin. It is only very rarely, if ever, the cause of dermatitis.

Eye contact

the eyes should be washed with running water. Medical advice should be sought if the discomfort persists.

Symptoms: Accumulated dust from the product may cause discomfort

Immediate Medical Attention

Anyone who has asthmatic symptoms from an exposure to dust should seek medical advice. Medical advice should be sought if the discomfort persists (for eyes).

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Water, Foam, or Powder. Extinguish with Water or Foam. Extinguish with Powder if there is an electrical risk or electrical fire. Extinguish with Foam or Powder if burning liquids are involved.

Unsuitable media

Water and foam should not be used if there is an electrical risk or electrical fire.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Environmental

do not allow to enter drainage system, do not hose down.

Cleanup methods

Product spillage should be swept up. Vacuuming is the preferred method of cleaning.

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

All manual handling operations, including those involving bagged product, should be the subject of risk assessment appropriate to the environment and the physical characteristics of the handlers.

Storage

Bulk product should be stored in silos or flat stores with adequate ventilation in cool and dry conditions – preferably between 4°C and 25°C in ambient relative humidity, away from sudden extreme changes in temperature, out of direct sunlight and protected from the ingress of potential pests. Bagged product should be stored in cool and dry conditions – preferably between 4°C and 25°C in ambient relative humidity, away from sudden extreme changes in temperature.
