First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

it is recommended to go to the company's medical services.

Symptoms: respiratory distress (agitated breathing, wheezing and shortness of breath), coughing, sneezing, nasal congestion, irritated and inflamed red eyes

Skin contact

consult your specialist if there could be a sensitization to the product.

Symptoms: itching, irritation, erythema

Eye contact

wash your eyes with plenty of water avoiding rubbing the eyes with your hands as this would increase the irritation of the conjunctiva and the risk of producing small eye injuries.

Symptoms: irritation and eye discomfort

Immediate Medical Attention

If, after accidental exposure or inhalation of the product, there is respiratory distress (agitated breathing, wheezing and shortness of breath), coughing, sneezing, nasal congestion, irritated and inflamed red eyes, it is recommended to go to the company's medical services. In case of irritation and eye discomfort persist after washing, seek medical attention. In case of appearance of itching, irritation, erythema, consult your specialist if there could be a sensitization to the product.

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

ABC powder extinguishers (polyvalent), CO2 fire extinguishers., Physical foam extinguishers., Foaming hoses-, Spray Water Extinguishers (water jet extinguishers can also be used)

Specific hazards

CO and CO2 are generated during combustion. In areas where the concentration of flour dust as a result of handling or storage could generate explosive atmospheres, protected equipment and working procedures should be used to guarantee control of the ignition sources.

Instructions

Wear protective clothing and appropriate equipment for extinguishing fires, no special precautions are necessary. In areas where the concentration of flour dust as a result of handling or storage could generate explosive atmospheres, protected equipment and working procedures should be used to guarantee control of the ignition sources. In order to correctly plan fire and explosion protection, see section IX. The conditions established in the Regulation of fire protection installations must be observed.

Firefighter Protection

Wear protective clothing and appropriate equipment for extinguishing fires, no special precautions are necessary. Appropriate respiratory protection equipment should be used.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

If as a consequence of the accidental spillage or spillage of the product the concentration of dust in the environment increases, it is recommended: Increase ventilation in the area, to proceed with its collection and / or disposal in safety conditions. Provide protection elements described in section VIII of this document.

Environmental

Biodegradable product. It can be evacuated by normal drains through a plant water treatment.

Cleanup methods

It is recommended to collect them by mechanical means. The remains can be removed using water.

Materials: water

Related Substances

Similar chemicals with comparable safety profiles

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

If exposure can not be avoided by other means, suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) should be used, especially in cases of product sensitization. (see section VIII)

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place protected from moisture

Hygiene

Extreme the hygienic measures of the work environment: No smoking, eating, drinking while manipulating the product. Prepare adequate maintenance and cleaning plans to avoid the accumulation of the product in places and work teams.

Fire prevention

No smoking, welding, no flames in the air in the area of storing the product. Keep away from other sources of ignition

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Hands

In cases of sensitization, the use of suitable gloves will be used to protect the hands from contact with the flour.

Eyes

We recommend the use of suitable protective glasses (EN 166 - 4 - F or EN 166 - 5 - F) for the emptying of bags and in all those handling operations of the product that could increase their point concentration in the environment.

Respiratory

It is recommended the use of suitable respiratory protection equipment (filtering masks against particles) for the emptying of bags and in all those handling operations of the product that could increase their point concentration in the environment.

Skin/Body

It is not necessary, unless there is a history of hypersensitivity in the manipulator.

Environmental

Appropriate measures should be adopted (filters in the exhaust outlets) to avoid the emission of dust particles to the environment.
