12.2. Persistence and degradability

12.2. Persistence and degradability

N,N-dimethylformamide was biodegraded in 9 days using a river die-away test. These results indicate that biodegradation may be an important environmental fate process. If released into water, N,N-dimethylformamide is not expected to adsorb to suspended solids and sediment based upon the estimated Koc. Volatilization from water surfaces is not expected to be an important fate process.

12.3. Bioaccumulative potential

Partition coefficient n-octanol/water (Log Kow) | -0.85 25°C Bioaccumulative potential | N,N-dimethylformamide: based on an BCF range of 03 -1.2 L/kg from an aquatic bioaccumulation test according to OECD guideline 305C, a low bioaccumulation potential is expected.

12.4. Mobility in soil

N,N-dimethylformamide is expected to have very high mobility based upon an estimated Koc of 1.

12.5. Results of PBT and vPvB assessment
