First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.

Skin contact

Take off contaminated clothes, wash skin with plenty of water of have a shower (during minimum 15 minutes) and if necessary take medical advice.

Eye contact

Wash with plenty of water (during 20 minutes minimum) with eyes wide open after taking off soft contact lenses and immediately take medical advice.

Ingestion

If accidentally swallowed obtain immediate medical attention. Keep at rest. Do NOT induce vomiting.

Immediate Medical Attention

If accidentally swallowed obtain immediate medical attention.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

powder, alcohol-resistant foam, water spray, carbon dioxide

Unsuitable media

Do not use a solid water stream as it may scatter and spread fire.

Specific hazards

Decomposition products may be a hazard to health.

Firefighter Protection

Appropriate self-contained breathing apparatus may be required.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Exclude non-essential personnel. Avoid breathing vapours. Refer to protective measures listed in Sections 7 and 8.

Environmental

Stop leak without risks if possible.

Cleanup methods

Take up mechanically (sweeping, shovelling) and collect in suitable container for disposal.

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust. Wear suitable respiratory equipment in case of insufficient ventilation.

Storage

Store in a cool, well-ventilated place. Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. Keep locked up and out of the reach of children.

Fire prevention

Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide adequate ventilation. Where reasonably practicable this should be achieved by the use of local exhaust ventilation and good general extraction.

Respiratory

If these are not sufficient to maintain concentrations of particulates and/or solvent vapours below the relevant occupational exposure limits, suitable respiratory protective equipment should be worn.
