First Aid

Emergency First Aid Measures

Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies

Inhalation Exposure

Verse lucht toedienen. Betreffende persoon in rusttoestand brengen en warm houden. Bij onregelmatige ademhaling of ademstilstand kunstmatige beademing toepassen. Bij bewusteloosheid stabiele zijligging toepassen.

Skin Contact

Verontreinigde kleding onmiddellijk uittrekken.

Contactlenzen uitdoen.

Ingestion/Swallowing

Het slachtoffer laten rusten.

Immediate Medical Attention Required

Exposure Controls & Personal Protective Equipment

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and required safety equipment

Engineering Controls

Ventilation must be present in spray booths for spray particles and solvent vapors. If dry sanding cannot be avoided, respiratory protection with fresh air supply must be used. Minimum ventilation required for 1 liter product to reach MAC: 570 m3/l (Basis: MAC (NL)); to reach 10% OEG: 22 m3/l.

Hand Protection

For prolonged or repeated contact, use chemical-resistant gloves, as indicated in standard EN 374: Protective gloves against chemicals and microorganisms. Recommended gloves: Nitrile rubber. Minimum breakthrough time: 30 min. For prolonged and regular contact, a glove with protection class 6 (breakthrough time more than 480 minutes according to EN 374) is recommended. For short contact, a glove with protection class 2 or higher (breakthrough time greater than 30 minutes according to EN 374) is recommended.

Eye Protection

Wearing chemical-resistant safety glasses is mandatory. Eye protection is required.

Respiratory Protection

If employees are in a spray booth, ventilation must be present for spray particles and solvent vapors. In these circumstances, they must wear a fresh-air hood during the spraying process until the concentration has fallen below the MAC value. If dry sanding cannot be avoided, respiratory protection with fresh air supply must be used. A combi-mask P1A1 is also mentioned.

Skin/Body Protection

Personnel must wear protective clothing. After skin contact, wash thoroughly. Work clothing should not consist of textiles that show dangerous melting behavior in case of fire. Wearing anti-static shoes is mandatory.

Environmental Exposure Controls

See national legislation in chapter 15 for legislation regarding environmental protection.
