Emergency First Aid Measures
Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies
๐ซ Inhalation Exposure
Move to fresh air. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Do not use mouth-to-mouth method if victim inhaled the substance. Call a physician or poison control centre immediately.
๐๏ธ Skin Contact
Wash contact areas with soap and water. Remove contaminated clothing. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.
Symptoms:
Defatting of the skin.
๐๏ธ Eye Contact
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.
๐ฝ๏ธ Ingestion/Swallowing
Rinse mouth thoroughly. Do NOT induce vomiting. If vomiting occurs, keep head low so that stomach content doesn't get into the lungs. Never give liquid to an unconscious person. Call a poison control centre immediately.
Symptoms:
Droplets of the product aspirated into the lungs through ingestion or vomiting may cause a serious chemical pneumonia.
๐จ Immediate Medical Attention Required
Provide general supportive measures and treat symptomatically. Keep victim under observation. Symptoms may be delayed.
Medical Treatment
Provide general supportive measures and treat symptomatically.

Exposure Controls & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and required safety equipment
๐ญ Engineering Controls
Provide adequate ventilation, including appropriate local extraction, to ensure that the defined occupational exposure limit is not exceeded.
๐งค Hand Protection
Wear suitable gloves tested to EN374. Chemical resistant gloves are recommended. If contact with forearms is likely wear gauntlet style gloves. When prolonged or frequent repeated contact occurs, Nitrile gloves may be suitable. (Breakthrough time of > 240 minutes.) For incidental contact/splash protection Neoprene, PVC gloves may be suitable.
๐๏ธ Eye Protection
Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles).
๐ท Respiratory Protection
In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.
๐ฆบ Skin/Body Protection
Chemical/oil resistant clothing is recommended. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse.
๐ Environmental Exposure Controls
Inform appropriate managerial or supervisory personnel of all environmental releases. Emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation. Fume scrubbers, filters or engineering modifications to the process equipment may be necessary to reduce emissions to acceptable levels.
