First Aid

Emergency First Aid Measures

Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies

Inhalation Exposure

Verse lucht toedienen. Betreffende persoon in rusttoestand brengen en warm houden. Bij onregelmatige ademhaling of ademstilstand kunstmatige beademing toepassen. Bij bewusteloosheid stabiele zijligging toepassen en medische advies inwinnen.

Skin Contact

Verontreinigde kleding onmiddellijk uittrekken. De huid grondig wassen met water en zeep of een erkende huidreiniger.

Eye Contact

Oogleden openhouden en minstens 10 minuten lang rijkelijk met zuiver, vloeiend water spoelen. Contactlenzen uitdoen. Medisch advies inwinnen.

Ingestion/Swallowing

Bij inslikken direkt arts raadplegen. Het slachtoffer laten rusten.

Immediate Medical Attention Required

Medical Treatment

Symptomatisch behandelen.

Exposure Controls & Personal Protective Equipment

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and required safety equipment

Engineering Controls

Ventilation must be present for any spray particles and solvent vapors, especially if workers are in a spray booth. This includes local exhaust ventilation to reduce exposure.

Hand Protection

For prolonged or repeated contact, use chemical-resistant gloves as indicated in standard EN 374: Protective gloves against chemicals and microorganisms. Recommended gloves: Viton (R) with a minimum breakthrough time of 480 minutes. For long-term and regular contact, a glove with protection class 6 (breakthrough time more than 480 minutes according to EN 374) is recommended. For short contact, a glove with protection class 2 or higher (breakthrough time greater than 30 minutes according to EN 374) is recommended. The choice of specific gloves should be based on all relevant workplace factors, including other chemicals used, physical requirements, possible body reactions to glove material, and supplier instructions.

Eye Protection

Wearing chemical-resistant safety glasses is mandatory. Sealed glasses are recommended.

Respiratory Protection

If workers are in a spray booth, they must wear a fresh-air hood during the spraying process until the concentration has fallen below the MAC value. A P2A2 half-face combination mask is recommended.

Skin/Body Protection

Personnel must wear protective clothing. Wash thoroughly after skin contact. Work clothing should not consist of textiles that exhibit dangerous melting behavior in case of fire. Wearing anti-static shoes is mandatory.

Environmental Exposure Controls

Refer to national legislation in chapter 15 for regulations regarding environmental protection.
