First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Immediately move the victim to fresh air or remove the source of contamination. Ensure airways are clear and if breathing is restricted allow qualified person to administer oxygen through a face mask. If not breathing apply artificial respiration. Seek medical attention if irritation develops and persists.

Symptoms: Irritation develops and persists. Prolonged inhalation can cause silicosis.

Skin contact

Wash affected area gently and thoroughly with water and non-abbrasive soap. Wash or discard contaminated clothing before re-using.

Symptoms: Irritation occurs.

Eye contact

Immediately flush eyes with a large amount of water for at least 15 minutes, ensure eyelids are held open.

Symptoms: Pain or redness occurs. Rubbing may cause abrasion of cornea.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomitting, wash the victims mouth out thoroughly with water.

Symptoms: Granuloma of the stomach may result from ingestion of large volumes of the product.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek medical attention if irritation develops and persists (inhalation). If irritation occurs seek medical attention immediately (skin). If pain or redness occurs seek medical advice (eye).

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.
