First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove from exposure, rest and keep warm. In severe cases, obtain medical attention.

Skin contact

Wash off skin thoroughly with flow water for 10~15 minutes and obtain medical attention.

Eye contact

Irrigate thoroughly with Water for at least 15 minutes and obtain medical attention.

Ingestion

Drink copious amounts of water (or milk). Seek medical attention immediately.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek immediate medical attention.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Copious amounts of water. Lith-X powder, Class D fire extinguisher, Dry Lithium Chloride, Graphite powder, and Pyrene 1

Unsuitable media

CO2, Class ABC, or Soda Ash type extinguisher

Specific hazards

Do not short circuit, recharge, over charge (discharge below 0.0 volts), puncture, crush, or expose to temperatures above the manufacture rated temperature. Cells may leak, vent, or explode. Touching the positive and negative poles with a conductive metal will quickly result in heat buildup and potential vent or explosio

Instructions

Cover with Lith-X powder, Class D fire extinguisher, dry lithium chloride, or graphite powder.

Firefighter Protection

Wear protective breathing apparatus such as SCBA (self contained breathing apparatus) or Air Purifying Respirator using NIOSH approved acid gas filter cartridges.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Do not breathe vapours or touch liquid with bare hand. If the skin has come into contact with the electrolyte, take an action in accordance with 4. First Aid Measures.

Cleanup methods

absorb the exudation, seal leaking battery and graphite powder in plastic bag

Materials: Graphite powder, plastic bag

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

This cell is a primary cell and or not designed to be charged or recharge. To do so may cause the cell to leak or explode. Avoid short-circuiting. If soldering or welding to the terminals or case of the cell(battery) is required, exercise proper precautions to prevent damage to cell which may result in loss of cell capacity, seal, leakage, and/or cell explosion. Do not solder to case.

Storage

Cells and packs should be stored at room temperature (approx 21 deg C or 70 deg F). Do not store batteries in high humidity environments for long periods as high temperatures will degrade performance.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Hands

In leakage situations, use specific gloves for leaking chemical substance and heat prevention.

Eyes

Use safety goggles or face shield which can separate eyes and the outside for chemical substance and heat prevention.

Respiratory

In all fire situations, use filter mask or self-contained breathing Apparatus for harmful gases or other material prevention.

Skin/Body

Additional equipments are needed to prevent from chemical substance, harmful material and heat. (Clothes, boots etc.)
