First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Fresh air and rest. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Skin contact

Remove contaminated clothing. Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Eye contact

Immediately flush with plenty of water for up to 15 minutes. Remove any contact lenses and open eyes wide apart. By prolonged rinsing, use lukewarm water to avoid damage to the eye. Contact physician if discomfort continues.

Ingestion

Immediately rinse mouth and drink plenty of water (200-300 ml). Do not induce vomiting. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Medical Treatment

No specific treatment required, see section 4.1.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Provide adequate ventilation. Avoid handling which leads to dust formation. Avoid inhalation of dust and contact with skin and eyes. Use protective equipment as referred to in section 8.

Storage

Keep containers tightly closed and dry.

Hygiene

Do not eat, drink or smoke during work. Wash hands at the end of each work shift and before eating, smoking and using the toilet. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide adequate ventilation, including appropriate local extraction, to ensure that the defined occupational exposure limit is not exceeded.

Hands

Gloves are recommended for prolonged use. Suitable gloves type: Nitrile. Butyl rubber. Neoprene. Breakthrough time: Not relevant. The chemical is a solid.

Eyes

Use tight fitting goggles if dust is generated.

Respiratory

In case of inadequate ventilation or risk of inhalation of dust, use suitable respiratory equipment with particle filter (type P2).

Skin/Body

Ordinary workwear.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into sewer, water system or soil. See also section 12.
