First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

Symptoms: difficulty breathing

Skin contact

Wash with soap and water.

Symptoms: irritation

Eye contact

In case of contact, immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

Symptoms: irritation

Ingestion

If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.

Symptoms: Aspiration hazard if swallowed- can enter lungs and cause damage.

Related Substances

Similar chemicals with comparable safety profiles

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide exhaust ventilation or other engineering controls to keep the airborne concentrations of vapors below their respective occupational exposure limits. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are proximal to the work-station location.

Hands

Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves or gauntlets complying with an approved standard should be worn at all times when handling chemical products if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary. Recommended, Latex gloves. Nitrile gloves.

Eyes

Safety eyewear complying with an approved standard should be used when a risk assessment indicates this is necessary to avoid exposure to liquid splashes, mists or dusts. Recommended, Safety glasses.

Respiratory

Use a properly fitted, air-purifying or air-fed respirator complying with an approved standard if a risk assessment indicates this is necessary.Respirator selection must be based on known or anticipated exposure levels, the hazards of the product and the safe working limits of the selected respirator. Respiratory protection: When using a liquid based on organic compound: - Recommended for organic vapour (type A) When using a dry powder: - Recommended for particulate filters (type P)

Skin/Body

Personal protective equipment for the body should be selected based on the task being performed and the risks involved and should be approved by a specialist before handling this product. Recommended, Protective Clothing (e.g.lab coat)
