First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Skin contact

Rinse skin with water/shower. Remove/Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Get medical advice if skin irritation persists.

Eye contact

Rinse eyes with water as a precaution. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth. Drink plenty of water. Vomiting: prevent asphyxia/aspiration pneumonia. If symptoms persist, call a physician.

Symptoms: After resorption of larger quantities: Drowsiness. Giddiness. Convulsions.

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Ensure good ventilation of the work station.

Hands

Chemically resistant protective gloves. EN 374. Choosing the proper glove is a decision that depends not only on the type of material, but also on other quality features, which differ for each manufacturer. Gloves must be replaced after each use and whenever signs of wear or perforation appear. Apply emollient cream. Do not use : Natural rubber, Nitrile rubber, Fluoroelastomer (FKM), Polyvinylchloride (PVC). Type: Chemically resistant protective gloves, Material: Butyl rubber, Permeation: 5 (> 240 minutes), Thickness (mm): 0,5, Penetration: No additional information available, Standard: EN 374.

Eyes

Safety goggles recommended during refilling

Respiratory

In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Breathing equipment is only to be used in order to handle the residual risk of short term jobs if all other risk minimizing measures have been carried out e.g. retention and/or local exhaust. . EN 149. Filter A (colour code: brown)

Skin/Body

Wear suitable protective clothing. Flame retardant antistatic protective clothing

Environmental

Avoid release to the environment.
