First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Supply fresh air and to be sure call for a doctor. In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation.

Skin contact

Immediately rinse with water. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.

Eye contact

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Seek medical treatment.

Ingestion

Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water.

Immediate Medical Attention

Seek medical treatment (for eyes), call for a doctor (inhalation), consult a doctor (skin).

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam. Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions.

Unsuitable media

Water with full jet

Specific hazards

Under certain fire conditions, traces of other toxic gases cannot be excluded. Formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or in case of fire.

Instructions

Cool endangered receptacles with water spray.

Firefighter Protection

Wear self-contained respiratory protective device.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Ensure adequate ventilation. Wear protective clothing. Avoid formation of dust. Keep away from ignition sources.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter sewers/ surface or ground water.

Cleanup methods

Pick up mechanically.

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Prevent formation of dust. Any unavoidable deposit of dust must be regularly removed. Ensure good ventilation/exhaustion at the workplace.

Storage

Store only in the original receptacle. Store in cool, dry conditions in well sealed receptacles. Store in the dark.

Fire prevention

Keep ignition sources away - Do not smoke. Protect against electrostatic charges.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Not necessary if room is well-ventilated.

Hands

Protective gloves. The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/ the substance/ the preparation. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation. Material of gloves: Butyl rubber, BR; Nitrile rubber, NBR; PVC gloves. The selection of the suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer. As the product is a preparation of several substances, the resistance of the glove material can not be calculated in advance and has therefore to be checked prior to the application. Penetration time of glove material: The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.

Eyes

Safety glasses

Respiratory

Not necessary if room is well-ventilated. Use suitable respiratory protective device in case of insufficient ventilation.

Skin/Body

Protective work clothing
