Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder or water fog

Unsuitable media

Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.

Specific hazards

In case of fire, toxic gases may be formed.

Firefighter Protection

Selection of respiratory protection for fire fighting: follow the general fire precautions indicated in the workplace.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Avoid inhalation of spray mist and contact with skin and eyes.

Environmental

Avoid discharge onto the ground.

Cleanup methods

Absorb spillage with suitable absorbent material.

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Avoid inhalation of spray mists and contact with skin and eyes. Observe good chemical hygiene practices.

Storage

Store in tightly closed original container. Store at room temperature.

Hygiene

Observe good chemical hygiene practices.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Provide adequate ventilation. Observe Occupational Exposure Limits and minimise the risk of inhalation of vapours. Local exhaust is recommended.

Hands

Wear protective gloves. Nitrile gloves are recommended, but be aware that the liquid may penetrate the gloves. Frequent change is advisable. The most suitable glove must be chosen in consultation with the gloves supplier, who can inform about the breakthrough time of the glove material.

Eyes

Wear goggles/face shield.

Respiratory

In case of inadequate ventilation and work of brief duration, use suitable respiratory equipment. Use respiratory equipment with combination filter, type A2/P2.

Skin/Body

Wear apron or protective clothing in case of splashes.
