Emergency First Aid Measures

Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies

🫁 Inhalation Exposure

🍽️ Ingestion/Swallowing

Zoveel mogelijk water laten drinken. Raadpleeg direct een arts. Braken niet opwekken als de arts daartoe niet uitdrukkelijk toestemming heeft gegeven.

🚨 Immediate Medical Attention Required

Raadpleeg direct een arts voor alle blootstellingsroutes. Symptomatisch behandelen.

Medical Treatment

Informatie voor de arts: symptomatisch behandelen.

Exposure Controls & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and required safety equipment

🏭 Engineering Controls

Good ventilation at the workplace must be ensured, with the aid of effective local exhaust ventilation.

🧀 Hand Protection

Protect hands with work gloves category III (ref. standard EN 374). For the final choice of work gloves, compatibility, degradation, breakthrough time, and permeation must be taken into account. In the case of preparations, the resistance of the work gloves must be checked before use, as this is not predictable. The wear time of the gloves depends on the duration and manner of use.

πŸ‘οΈ Eye Protection

It is recommended to wear hermetically sealed safety glasses (ref. standard EN 166).

😷 Respiratory Protection

If the threshold limit value (e.g., TLV-TWA) of the substance or of one or more substances present in the product is exceeded, it is advisable to use a mask with a type A filter, the class (1, 2 or 3) of which is chosen based on the concentration limit value (ref. standard EN 14387). In the presence of gases or vapors of different types and/or gases or vapors with particles (aerosols, smoke, mist, etc.), combination filters should be used. The use of respiratory protective equipment is necessary when the technical measures applied are not sufficient to limit worker exposure to the relevant threshold values. The protection offered by the masks is limited in any case. If the substance concerned is odorless or its odor threshold is above the corresponding TLV-TWA, and in any case in emergencies, use an independent compressed air breathing apparatus with open circuit (ref. standard EN 137) or a self-priming hose mask (ref. standard EN 138). For the correct choice of respiratory protective equipment, consult standard EN 529.

🦺 Skin/Body Protection

Wear long-sleeved work clothing and safety footwear for professional use category II (ref. Regulation 2016/425 and standard EN ISO 20344).

🌍 Environmental Exposure Controls

Emissions from production processes, including emissions from ventilation equipment, must be controlled in the context of compliance with environmental protection legislation. Product residues must not be discharged uncontrolled into wastewater or waterways.
