Inhalation Exposure

Skin Contact
Verontreinigde kledij onmiddellijk uittrekken. Onmiddellijk huid spoelen met water, daarna met water en zeep. Dit is noodzakelijk om huidcontact te minimaliseren. Een arts raadplegen. Verontreinigde kledij vr hergebruik wassen.
Eye Contact
Onmiddellijk spoelen met een oogspoelmiddel of met schoon water gedurende tenminste 15 minuten; hierbij de oogleden van elkaar houden. Onmiddellijk een arts raadplegen
Ingestion/Swallowing
ONMIDDELLIJK EEN ARTS RAADPLEGEN. SPOED IS NOODZAKELIJK. De getroffene onmiddellijk naar het dichtstbijzijnde ziekenhuis of medisch centrum vervoeren; de geschatte aankomstijd telefonisch doorgeven om vertraging in de behandeling te voorkomen. Braken opwecken, voor zover dit nog niet heeft plaatsgevonden; hiertoe een proper stomp voorwerp (b.v. het heft van een lepel) achter in de keel steken.

Medical Treatment
ZIEKENHUIS BEHANDELING: Verwijs naar de brochure ("The Treatment of Paraquat Poisoning" (Guide for Doctors). Maag spoelen; urine en maagspoeling (indien helder) testen op aanwezigheid van paraquat. Tot 1 liter suspensie van 15 % Fullersaarde in water toedienen, oraal of via maagsonde, samen met een toereikende hoeveelheid purgeermiddel (200 ml oplossing van 20 % Mannitol in water). De toediening van absorptie- en purgemiddel herhalen totdat het absorptiemiddel wordt waargenomen in de ontlasting. Normaliter tussen 4 en 6 uur na aanvang van de behandeling. Indien nodig, de ogen behandeld worden met een lokaal antibioticum om secundaire infectie te voorkomen. Een lokale behandeling met een steroid zal de verdwijning van het granulatieweefsel bevorderen.
