First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Skin contact

Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water while removing all contaminated clothes and shoes. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/ attention.

Eye contact

In case of contact with substance, immediately flush skin or eyes with running water for at least 20 minutes. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.

Ingestion

Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Immediate Medical Attention

Get medical attention if symptoms occur.

Medical Treatment

Treat symptomatically.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Dry chemical, CO2, water spray or regular foam.

Unsuitable media

Do not scatter spilled material with high pressure water streams.

Specific hazards

Some may burn but none ignite readily.

Firefighter Protection

As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH (approved or equivalent) and full protective gear.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Use personal protective equipment as required. Do not touch or walk through spilled material. Stop leak if you can do it without risk.

Environmental

Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas.

Cleanup methods

Take up with sand or other non-combustible absorbent material and place into containers for later disposal. With clean shovel place material into clean, dry container and cover loosely; move containers from spill area. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly.

Materials: sand or other non-combustible absorbent material

Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

Showers, Eyewash stations, Ventilation systems.

Hands

Wear suitable chemical resistant gloves. The selection of suitable gloves does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and various manufacturers.

Eyes

Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles).

Respiratory

If exposure limits are exceeded or irritation is experienced, NIOSH/MSHA approved respiratory protection should be worn. Positive-pressure supplied air respirators may be required for high airborne contaminant concentrations. Respiratory protection must be provided in accordance with current local regulations.

Skin/Body

Wear suitable chemical resistant gloves.
