First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Remove person to fresh air and keep comfortable for breathing.

Symptoms: EXPOSURE TO HIGH CONCENTRATIONS: Coughing. Headache. Dizziness. Narcosis. Disturbances of consciousness.

Skin contact

Wash immediately with lots of water (15 minutes)/shower. Soap may be used. Remove clothing before washing.

Symptoms: Tingling/irritation of the skin.

Eye contact

Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Take victim to an ophthalmologist if irritation persists.

Symptoms: Redness of the eye tissue. Irritation of the eye tissue.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth with water. Do not induce vomiting. Ingestion of large quantities: immediately to hospital.

Symptoms: Risk of lung oedema. Irritation of the gastric/intestinal mucosa. Risk of aspiration pneumonia.

Immediate Medical Attention

Treat symptomatically. Ingestion of large quantities: immediately to hospital. Take victim to an ophthalmologist if irritation persists (for eye contact).
