Chemical Composition & Hazardous Ingredients

Detailed component analysis, concentration ranges, and hazardous substance identification

Product Type

Substance

General Composition

A complex combination of hydrocarbons produced by the distillation of products from a catalytic reforming process. It consists of hydrocarbons having carbon numbers predominantly in the range of C4 through C12 and boiling in the range of approximately 30C to 220C (90F to 430F). It contains a relatively large proportion of aromatic and branched chain hydrocarbons. This stream may contain 10 vol.% or more benzene.

Emergency First Aid Measures

Critical first aid procedures for chemical exposure incidents and medical emergencies

๐Ÿซ Inhalation Exposure

Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. seek medical advice. if necessary, give oxygen if breathing has stopped: administer artificial respiration. Check for possible heart rate problems In case of complications: remove to hospital

๐Ÿ–๏ธ Skin Contact

Take off immediately all contaminated clothing wash skin as soon as possible with soap and water. Get medical advice if irritation persists.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Eye Contact

Do not wear contact lenses in any work area. flush immediately with plenty of water, holding the eyelids open Get medical advice (ophthalmologist)

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ Ingestion/Swallowing

give nothing to drink and do not induce vomiting (risk of pulmonary aspiration). Risk of serious damage if inhaled into lungs, (caused e.g by vomiting), seek medical advice urgently. If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious)

๐Ÿšจ Immediate Medical Attention Required

IN CASE OF HEAVY OR PERSISTENT DISTURBANCES, CALL A DOCTOR OR SEEK MEDICAL ADVICE URGENTLY

Exposure Controls & Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and required safety equipment

๐Ÿญ Engineering Controls

The substance is flammable and therefore the following conditions must be met to ensure safe use: Risks are controlled by storage and use under conditions which avoid all ignition sources.

๐Ÿงค Hand Protection

Gloves resistant to aromatic hydrocarbons. In case of immersion: recommended material: fluorinated polymer or polyvinyl alcohol, all thicknesses, penetration time according to norm EN 374-3 > 480 minutes. In case of contact with spray: recommended material: nitrile, layer thickness > 0,30 mm, penetration time according to norm EN 374-3 > 60 minutes. Remarks: Gloves may degrade in contact with this chemical. Carefully check the glove for cracks or damage before reusing it, dispose of gloves where the penetration time is exceeded. The penetration time depends on temperature, glove material, thickness and construction. Penetration time is measured against EN 374 in laboratory conditions corresponding to permanent static contact and is not necessarily representative of the risk in the workplace. Contact the gloves' supplier for further information on the selection and resistance of gloves.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Eye Protection

Goggles/spectacles. Do not wear contact lenses in any work area.

๐Ÿ˜ท Respiratory Protection

Local exhaust ventilation may be needed when working in a closed area. Wear suitable breathing equipment, in case of risk of exposure to vapour or fumes. If exposure is likely to exceed the occupational exposure limit, in a ventilated space, use an approved respiratory protective equipment; in confined space, use an autonomous breathing apparatus. Breathing apparatus A.

๐Ÿฆบ Skin/Body Protection

Shower and eye fountain available. Where exposure is likely, protective clothing must be worn including gloves. Safety non-slip shoes in areas where spills or leaks can occur. Safety shoes (keg / gas cylinder manipulation).

๐ŸŒ Environmental Exposure Controls

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety procedures.
