First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Move affected person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.

Symptoms: Irritation of nose, throat and airway.

Skin contact

Wash skin thoroughly with soap and water.

Symptoms: Prolonged skin contact may cause redness and irritation.

Eye contact

Remove any contact lenses and open eyelids wide apart. Continue to rinse.

Symptoms: May cause temporary eye irritation.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth thoroughly with water. Give plenty of water to drink. Move affected person to fresh air and keep warm and at rest in a position comfortable for breathing.

Symptoms: May cause discomfort if swallowed.

Medical Treatment

The severity of the symptoms described will vary dependent on the concentration and the length of exposure.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Extinguish with alcohol-resistant foam, carbon dioxide, dry powder or water fog. Use fire-extinguishing media suitable for the surrounding fire.

Unsuitable media

Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.

Firefighter Protection

Use protective equipment appropriate for surrounding materials.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Keep unnecessary and unprotected personnel away from the spillage. Treat the spilled material according to the instructions in the clean-up section.

Environmental

Avoid discharge into drains or watercourses or onto the ground. The product contains substances which are water-soluble and may spread in water systems.

Cleanup methods

Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into containers.

Materials: vermiculite, dry sand or earth
