First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

If breathing is difficult, remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell.

Symptoms: May cause irritation to the respiratory tract.

Skin contact

IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of Water. Take off contaminated clothing and wash it before reuse. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

Symptoms: May cause skin irritation. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. May cause an allergic skin reaction.

Eye contact

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. If eye irritation persists: Get medical advice/attention.

Symptoms: May cause eye irritation. Symptoms may include discomfort or pain, excess blinking and tear production, with possible redness and swelling.

Ingestion

Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Get medical advice/attention if you feel unwell.

Symptoms: May be harmful if swallowed. May cause gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. May cause burns to mouth, throat and stomach. Overexposure to this material may result in methemoglobinemia.

Immediate Medical Attention

In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible).

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire.

Unsuitable media

Use chemical extinguishing agents with caution. Some chemical extinguishing agents may react with this material.

Specific hazards

Fire hazard: Products of combustion may include, and are not limited to: oxides of carbon. Nitrogen oxides. Oxides of sodium. Oxygen. Phosphorus oxides. Oxides of sulfur. Explosion hazard: Heat may build pressure, rupturing closed containers, spreading fire and increasing risk of burns and injuries.

Instructions

Cool closed containers exposed to fire with water spray.

Firefighter Protection

Keep upwind of fire. Wear full fire fighting turn-out gear (full Bunker gear) and respiratory protection (SCBA).

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Isolate the hazard area and deny entry to unnecessary and unprotected personnel.

Environmental

Prevent entry to sewers and public waters.

Cleanup methods
