First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Fresh air. If breathing stops: mouth-to-mouth respiration or artificial ventilation. Oxygen if necessary. Immediately call in physician.
Remove contaminated clothing, immediately. Wash off with water /shower. Consult a physician.
Rinse out with plenty of water. Call in ophthalmologist.
Immediately make victim drink water (two glasses at most). Consult a physician. Subsequently administer activated charcoal (20-40g in 10% slurry).
Immediate Medical Attention
Immediately call in physician.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Carbon dioxide (CO₂), foam, dry powder, water.
For this substance/mixture no irritations of extinguishing agents are given.
Combustible. Vapours are heavier than air and may spread along floors. Forms explosive mixtures with air at elevated temperatures. Development of hazardous combustion gases or vapours possible in the event of fire.
Remove container from danger zone and cool with water.
Firefighter Protection
Stay in dangerous area only with self-contained breathing apparatus. Prevent skin contact by keeping a safe distance or by wearing suitable protective clothing.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Do not inhale vapours/aerosols. Avoid substance contact. Ensure adequate ventilation. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Evacuate the danger area, observe emergency procedures, consult an expert.
Do not allow to enter into drain. Risk of explosion.
Take up with liquid-absorbent material (e.g. Chemizorb®). Clean up affected area.
Materials: liquid-absorbent material (e.g. Chemizorb®)

Handling and Storage
Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements
Observe label precautions. Work under hood. Do not inhale substance / mixture. Avoid generation of vapours/aerosols.
Keep locked up in an area accessible only for qualified or authorized persons. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.
Immediately change contaminated clothing. Apply preventive skin protection. Wash hands and face after working with substance.
Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition. Take precautionary measures to prevent electrostatic charging.
Exposure Controls / PPE
Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment
Technical measures and appropriate working operations should be given priority over the use of personal protective equipment. See section 7.1.
In full contact. - Glove material: butyl rubber - Glove thickness: 0.7 mm - Breakthrough time: >480 Min. In splash contact: - Glove material: Viton® - Glove thickness: 0.7 mm - Breakthrough time: >240 Min The protective gloves to be used must comply with the specifications of EC directive 89/686/EEC and the resultant standard EN374, for example KCL 898 Butoject® (full contact), KCL 890 Vitoject® (splash contact). The breakthrough times stated above were determined by KCL in laboratory tests acc. to EN374 with samples of the recommended glove types. The recommendation applies only to the product stated in the safety data sheet and supplied by us as well as to the purpose specified by us. When dissolving in or mixing with other substances and under conditions deviating from those stated in EN374 please contact the supplier of CE-approved gloves (e.g. KCL GmbH, D-36124 Eichenzell. Internet: www.kcl.de).
Safety glasses.
Required when vapours/aerosols are generated. Recommended filter type: Filter A (acc. to DIN 3181) for vapours of organic compounds. The entrepreneur has to ensure that maintenance, cleaning and testing of respiratory protective devices are carried out according to the instructions of the producer. These measures have to be properly documented.
Flame retardant antistatic protective clothing.
Do not empty into drains. Risk of explosion.
