First Aid Measures

Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents

Inhalation

Provide fresh air. Remove victim out of the danger area.

Skin contact

Wash away with soap and water and rinse. Immediately remove all contaminated clothing.

Symptoms: Causes skin irritation.

Eye contact

Flush with plenty of water (10 - 15 min.). Call a physician.

Ingestion

Do NOT induce vomiting. Let water be drunken in little sips (dilution effect). Keep at rest. Call a physician immediately.

05

Firefighting Measures

Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection

Suitable media

Not combustible under normal conditions. No flammable liquid according to BetrSichV.

Instructions

Move undamaged containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done safely.

06

Accidental Release Measures

Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection

Emergency procedures

Take the precautions customary when handling chemicals. Do not inhale the vapour. Clear spills immediately.

Environmental

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Prevent spread over a wide area (e.g. by containment or oil barriers).

Cleanup methods

Take up with a liquid absorbing material and proceed according to the waste disposal regulations. Remove mechanically, take-up residues with absorbing material. Absorb with liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents). Clear spills immediately.

Materials: liquid absorbing material, absorbing material, liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents)

07

Handling and Storage

Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements

Handling

Take the precautions customary when handling chemicals. Avoid: Inhalation of vapours or spray/mists Skin contact Eye contact Wear personal protection equipment (refer to section 8).

Storage

Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place. Avoid cooling to under 0°C. Ensure adequate ventilation of the storage area. Restrict access to stockrooms. Keep only in the original container in a cool, well-ventilated place. Protect against : Heat. UV-radiation/sunlight

Hygiene

When using do not eat, drink, smoke, sniff.

08

Exposure Controls / PPE

Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment

Engineering

See section 7. No additional measures necessary.

Hands

Tested protective gloves must be worn DIN EN 374 Gloves, for example PVC at least 0,8 mm thick. See protective gloves instruction sheet. Suitable gloves type: Disposable gloves. Suitable material: PVC (Polyvinyl chloride). Unsuitable material: Thick fabric. Recommended glove articles: DIN EN 374. Additional hand protection measures: Do not wear gloves near rotary machines and tools. Use gloves only once. Take recovery periods for skin regeneration.

Eyes

Eye glasses with side protection. Use safety glasses. Required properties: DIN EN 166.

Respiratory

Respiratory protection necessary at: exceeding exposure limit values. The filter class must be suitable for the maximum contaminant concentration (gas/vapour/aerosol/particulates) that may arise when handling the product. If the concentration is exceeded, self-contained breathing apparatus must be used.

Skin/Body

Recommended material: Natural fibres (e.g. cotton). Only wear fitting, comfortable and clean protective clothing.

Environmental

See section 7. No additional measures necessary.
