First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Move to fresh air. Call a physician if symptoms develop or persist.
Remove contaminated clothing. Wash with plenty of soap and water. If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
Symptoms: Skin irritation. May cause redness and pain.
Immediately flush eyes with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Get medical attention immediately.
Symptoms: Severe eye irritation.
Rinse mouth. If swallowed, do NOT induce vomiting. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
Immediate Medical Attention
Call a physician if symptoms develop or persist (inhalation). Get medical advice/attention if skin irritation occurs. Get medical attention immediately (eye contact). Get medical attention if symptoms occur (ingestion).
Medical Treatment
Provide general supportive measures and treat symptomatically. Keep victim under observation.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Dry chemical, CO2, or water spray. Use extinguishing measures that are appropriate to local circumstances and the surrounding environment.
Not relevant.
None known. See also section 10.
In case of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.
Firefighter Protection
Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Keep unnecessary personnel away. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak. Wear appropriate protective equipment and clothing during clean-up. Do not breathe vapour. Do not touch damaged containers or spilled material unless wearing appropriate protective clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained. For personal protection, see section 8 of the SDS.
Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.
Stop the flow of material, if this is without risk. Dike the spilled material, where this is possible. Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into containers. Following product recovery, flush area with water.
Avoid release to the environment. Local authorities should be advised if significant spillages cannot be contained. Inform appropriate managerial or supervisory personnel of all environmental releases. Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Avoid discharge into drains, water courses or onto the ground.
Absorb in vermiculite, dry sand or earth and place into containers. Following product recovery, flush area with water. Wipe up with absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece). Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.
Materials: vermiculite, dry sand or earth, absorbent material (e.g. cloth, fleece)

Handling and Storage
Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements
Do not breathe vapour. Do not get this material in contact with eyes. Avoid contact with eyes, skin, and clothing. Avoid prolonged exposure. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Avoid release to the environment. Observe good industrial hygiene practices. Wash hands after handling. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practices. Adequate ventilation should be provided so that exposure limits are not exceeded.
Storage temperature: between 0°C and 50°C. Store in closed original container in a dry place. Store away from incompatible materials (see Section 10 of the SDS). Keep from freezing.
Observe good industrial hygiene practices. Wash hands after handling. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practices.
Exposure Controls / PPE
Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment
Good general ventilation should be used. Ventilation rates should be matched to conditions. If applicable, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to maintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits. If exposure limits have not been established, maintain airborne levels to an acceptable level. Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confined areas. Provide eyewash station and safety shower.
Use protective gloves made of: Nitrile. Polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles) and a face shield.
In case of insufficient ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment.
Wear appropriate chemical resistant clothing.
Inform appropriate managerial or supervisory personnel of all environmental releases. Emissions from ventilation or work process equipment should be checked to ensure they comply with the requirements of environmental protection legislation. Fume scrubbers, filters or engineering modifications to the process equipment may be necessary to reduce emissions to acceptable levels.
