First Aid Measures
Emergency procedures for chemical exposure incidents
Move to fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If breathing stops, provide artificial respiration. Get medical attention if symptoms persist.
Symptoms: Upper respiratory irritation, coughing, and breathing difficulties.
Wash off with soap and water. Duration of rinsing should be at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
Symptoms: Mild skin irritation. Symptoms may include redness, edema, drying, defatting and cracking of the skin.
If in eyes: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Duration of rinsing should be at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation persists after washing.
Symptoms: Moderate to severe eye irritation. Symptoms may include stinging, tearing, redness, swelling, and blurred vision.
Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to a victim who is unconscious or is having convulsions. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.
Symptoms: Gastrointestinal irritation, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
Immediate Medical Attention
Provide general supportive measures and treat symptomatically.
Medical Treatment
Provide general supportive measures and treat symptomatically.
Firefighting Measures
Extinguishing media, specific hazards, and firefighter protection
Water fog. Foam. Dry chemical powder. Carbon dioxide (CO2).
Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.
During fire, gases hazardous to health may be formed. Closed containers may rupture if exposed to excess heat or flame due to a build-up of internal pressure.
Move containers from fire area if you can do it without risk. Shield personnel to protect from venting or rupturing containers. Use water spray to cool unopened containers.
Firefighter Protection
Firefighters must use standard protective equipment including flame retardant coat, helmet with face shield, gloves, rubber boots, and in enclosed spaces, SCBA.
Accidental Release Measures
Spill cleanup procedures, containment, and environmental protection
Stop leak if you can do so without risk.
Avoid release to the environment.
Cover any spilled material with non-combustible absorbent material, such as vermiculite or sand, then place absorbent material into a container for later disposal. Clean surface thoroughly to remove residual contamination.
Materials: non-combustible absorbent material, such as vermiculite or sand

Handling and Storage
Safe handling precautions, storage conditions, and workplace requirements
Do not get in eyes, on skin, or on clothing. Do not breathe vapors or spray mist. Do not taste or swallow. When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Provide adequate ventilation. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment. Wash thoroughly after handling. Keep away from incompatibles, refer to section 10. Observe good industrial hygiene practices. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse.
Keep containers tightly closed in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place. Store in original tightly closed container. Store away from incompatible materials (see Section 10 of the SDS). Keep from freezing.
When using, do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash thoroughly after handling. Wash contaminated clothing before reuse. Observe good industrial hygiene practices.
Keep away from heat, sparks and open flame.
Exposure Controls / PPE
Occupational exposure limits, engineering controls, and protective equipment
Good general ventilation (typically 10 air changes per hour) should be used. Ventilation rates should be matched to conditions. If applicable, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls to maintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits.
Wear appropriate chemical resistant gloves. Advice should be sought from glove suppliers.
Wear safety glasses with side shields (or goggles). Eye wash fountains are required.
Use a NIOSH approved respirator if there is a risk of exposure at levels exceeding the exposure limits. Advice should be sought from respiratory protection specialists.
Wear appropriate chemical resistant clothing. Eye wash facilities and emergency shower must be available when handling this product.
